CITY INTERESTED IN 70MILLION TRANSFER

Manchester City have been linked with a lot of players this offseason and one of them is Lille forward Nicolas Pepe. The Ivorian international has been on the top list of a number of clubs after impressing for the French club this season.

His manager Christophe Galtier has finally confirmed that the 23-year-old will leave the club this summer. Speaking to Canal+ he revealed that the Ivorian international has informed the club of his decision to leave this summer.

However, Manchester City face a battle for his signature as Bayern Munich an City rivals d Manchester United are reportedly interested in the player.

Manchester City are looking at signing the player due to the uncertainty surrounding the future if Leroy Sane. The German is yet to sign a new deal amid need that Bayern Munich could make a huge bid for his services.

A transfer fee of £70 million has been mentioned as the asking price for Pepe with the French club looking to receive maximum value for their prized player.

This would surpass the £60 million record fee that Manchester City paid for Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez.

Mahrez has also been linked with a move away from the club but it is thought that manager Pep Guardiola likes the player.

Pepe is known for his pace, dribbling ability as well as his goalscoring nous. He scored a remarkable 22 goals and provided 11 assist this season which led Lille to second place in Ligue 1.

He would be a good signing for the club as he would add more strength to the exceptional firepower at the Etihad.

Another player that has been linked to the club is Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes. There had been rumours that he had agreed a move to City last month but this we’re proven to be false.

Manchester United appear to be favourites to sign the player but Manchester City are well positioned to swoop for the creative midfielder.
