SEARCH FOR TALENT

The Algerian national team manager Vahid Halilhodzic has revealed that he will be travelling to Europe in order to search for the promising Algerian players for the upcoming 2013 African cup of nations.

After failing to qualify for this major tournament in the 2012 edition, Algeria have done extremely well in the qualification rounds of this tournament time around. However, they will not be having an easy passage past the group stages because they are in the same group containing the tournament favourites Ivory Coast. Ivory Coast made it into the final of the tournament last season and they will be a force to reckon with this time around as well.

The Bosnian manager Vahid Halilhodzic will be travelling to a number of countries across Europe in the hope of finding the highly talented and quality players for the national team. The football Federation of Algeria has revealed that Vahid Halilhodzic will be travelling to watch matches in the Italian Serie A, Spanish la Liga, and the English Premier league over the course of the next month. The African cup of nations 2013 will be starting from January and there is only very little time left to choose the players. The major disappointment for Vahid Halilhodzic will be the fact that the Parma striker Ishak Belfodil has decided to play for the French national team over the Algerian national team.

The 20-year-old striker is regarded as one of the promising players for the country, but due to the fact that he also has a French passport he is eligible for the French national team. However, the Algerian football Federation has not given up on the prospect of making the player represent the African team. Algeria have the friendly match against South Africa look forward to in the middle of March.
