BOSS HAPPY WITH PERFORMANCE

The Algerian national football team manager Vahid Halilhodzic has said that he is extremely satisfied with the performance of his players and he is delighted to be part of the African cup of Nations group stages.

Algeria became the last team to qualify for this major tournament that will take place in January this year. They recently qualified for this tournament following the 2-0 win over Libya. This was the second leg qualifying match and it has given them a 3-0 advantage in the tie. Hillel Soudani’s goal in the first leg was enough to give them a huge boost coming into this match.

The increased their advantage over Libya in this match as well following the 2-0 win. El Arbi Hillel Soudani and Islam Slimani were the scorers for Algeria this time around. Algeria managed to open the scoring after just 5 min on the clock. It was following a brilliant move from Algeria, which was aptly finished by the score of the goal in the first leg. Algeria then doubled their advantage through the goal from Islam Slimani shortly afterwards. From then on in, it was plain sailing from the Algerians, as they comfortably secure their place in the group stages of the African cup of nations.

The draw for the 2013 African cup of nations was recently held, and Algeria have been handed a tough draw for this group stages. This is because they will be facing one of the title favourites in the form of Ivory Coast. The manager of the national team Vahid Halilhodzic has acknowledged the fact that it will be extremely tough for Algeria at this competition, but he is hoping that the good form that they carry into this tournament will hold them in good stead. Algeria will play a friendly against Bosnia later next week.
